About Repair My PST

We started with a single belief: that laptop repair should be honest, fairly priced, and genuinely useful. Seven years later, that belief still guides every repair we make.

A Shop Built on Straightforward Advice

Repair My PST was founded in Pittsburgh in 2017 by Marcus Webb, a CompTIA A+-certified technician who spent years watching colleagues recommend unnecessary repairs and inflate estimates. He opened Odyssey with a different approach: tell customers exactly what's wrong, exactly what it costs, and let them decide.

Since then, the team has grown to include specialists in hardware, software, and data recovery. We've repaired thousands of laptops for individuals, students, and small businesses across Pittsburgh and the surrounding communities.

We don't claim to fix everything — some devices are beyond cost-effective repair, and we'll say so. What we do guarantee is that you'll leave with an accurate understanding of your situation and no surprises on your bill.

What We Stand By

Transparency

We explain every recommended repair in plain language. We present a written quote before touching your device. We don't bill for work you didn't authorize.

Competence

Our technicians hold industry certifications and keep their skills current. We don't guess — we diagnose carefully and refer out if a repair falls outside our expertise.

Privacy

We access only what is needed to complete the repair. We do not examine personal files beyond technical necessity. We do not retain your data after service is complete.

Customer Interest First

If a repair doesn't make financial sense, we'll tell you. We'd rather lose a job than have a customer walk away feeling misled or taken advantage of.

Sustainability

Extending device life keeps electronics out of landfills. We consider that a meaningful part of what we do, and we take it seriously.

Clear Communication

We contact you promptly with updates, call before any change of scope, and ensure you understand what was done before you pay.

How We Got Here

2017

Opened on Crawford Street

Marcus Webb opened Repair My PST with a small bench, basic tools, and a commitment to doing repairs the right way. The first six months were word-of-mouth only.

2019

First Full-Time Technician Hire

Growing demand led to Priya Nair joining the team as a hardware specialist. The shop expanded its bench space and began offering same-day service on select repairs.

2021

Software and Security Division

Tom Briggs joined with a focus on software diagnostics, OS repair, and cybersecurity. This allowed Odyssey to handle a broader range of issues, including data recovery and malware remediation.

2022

Small Business Program

We introduced a priority service program for small businesses with multiple devices. Linda Park joined as Customer Relations Manager to coordinate scheduling and communication.

The articles and guides published on this website are written or reviewed by our qualified technicians. Our goal is to provide accurate, practical information that helps laptop owners make informed decisions — whether they bring their device to us or not.

We do not make income claims, exaggerate repair success rates, or recommend purchases based on commercial relationships. When facts change — hardware evolves quickly — we update our content accordingly.
